Main Post Office, 1927-1931, Plaza del Alcalde Manuel Casas, A Coruña, Galicia, Spain

This beautiful main post office in A Coruna was featured on a 2002 Spanish postage stamp. Built between 1927 and 1931 on land reclaimed from the sea, the architects of this eye-catching gem were Luis Lozano Losilla and Joaquin Otamendi Machimbarrena. All components of this large building, which is easily the best-designed construction in this part of the city, seem to flow easily one into the next, they are so well-coordinated.

Palazzo delle Poste di Palermo, 1920s, Palermo, Italy

Sitting on a bus going along Via Roma in Palermo, the visitor cannot help but be impressed by the sight of the magnificent post office. According to Isabelle Lomholt on e-architect, the post office "is a large rationalist building designed by architect Angiolo Mazzoni in the early 1920s. The style of the building is typical of the fascist period whilst the interiors are futuristic, one of the few intact examples of the time, with frescoes by Benedetta Cappa, wife of Marinetti." Frist TN Community Art Gallery, formerly Nashville Main Post Office
